5/21/10 Smart uses for Yogurt
*1* Feed Fido- Yogurt's calming to dogs with digestive troubles, so treat Fido to a couple tablespoons of yogurt every few days. (Hmm..wonder if this will help with doggy gas?)
*2* Grow garden moss- Blend lawn moss with 1 cup each plain yogurt and water. Apply the mixture to shaded rocks or brick. Mist it with water occasionally, and watch the moss grow!
*3* Soothe Sunburn- For cooling relief, smooth plain yogurt on sunburned skin and relax for 20 minutes.
*4* Finger Painting- Add sugar-free soft-drink powder to plain yogurt for colorful finger paints that are easy to clean-and tasty too!
*5* Leftover Yogurt cups- If you have lots of leftover single serve cups you could use them as prtable food containers for your lunch and recycle when done.

*1* Pimple Potion- Da blemishes with honey to kill bacteria and speed healing.
*2* Ease Indigestion- Honey's enzymes aid digestion! Try eating a teaspoonful next time you get heartburn.
*3* Hangover Cure- The fructose in honey helps flush alcohol out of your system. Have a spoonful before bed.
*4* Relaxing Honey Soak- For softer, smoother skin, next time you take a bath, try adding 1/4 cup honey to the water.
*5* Shiny Hair- Put a teaspoon of honey in a quart of warm water, and pour over clean, wet hair. Let it dry naturally.
*6* Lip Balm- Add honey to petroleum jelly to make it fragrant and delicious.

4/27/10 Prevent Eyeshadow from "sliding"
I found this awesome time in the March 2010 issue of First for Women.
I have a lot of eyeshadow that slides and I hate it. I love the colors but hate the shadow because it doesn't stay put and last long.
I have to share this solution I found with you!
For alluring all day eyes, try this makeup artist's trick: Before applying the shadow, dab three drops of contact lens solution on each lid. Let dry for 5 seconds, then add color. The sodium chloride in the solution helps powdered makeup retain moisture, so the pigment will last twice as long.

Ways to make use of Old Newspapers
*1* Protect Floors- Keep newspaper by the door to put wet shoes/boots on. The paper absorbs water and salt in the winter which can ruin your floors. Just replace the paper daily.
*2* Umbrella Care- Crumple up some newspaper to put in the bottom of your umbrella holder. The paper will absorb the water that would puddle at the bottom otherwise.
*3* Leaky Trash- Put sections of newspaper in the bottom of your trash can. It will soak up leaks and odors from the trash bag.
*4* Make a cozy fire- Roll up black and white newspapers (not colored inserts) then tie with a string. This makes an extra log for the fire.
*5* Help when painting-You can keep the paint from splattering on your windows by cutting newspaper to fit your windowpanes. Wet it, and stick it to the glass. Just peel it off when your done!

4/15/10 Great ways to use Egg Cartons!
*1* Sort Change- You can even paint it or decorate it pretty if you like, but keep an egg carton on your dresser or under the seat in your car to store loose change in. You will be able to find the coins you need in a hurry!
*2* Golf Ball Storage- Keep your gold balls clean by storing them in egg cartons
*3* Mix Your Paint colors- Pour acrylic or water color paints in the cups. Just cover them with plastic wrap to keep the paint fresh.
*4* Clean Jewelry- Soak small jewels in the cups with liquid jewelry cleaner
*5* Store Small Items- Find small items like buttons, earrings, etc. a lot quicker by storing them in each compartment.
*6* Feed the Birds-Poke some small holes in the corner s of the carton and hang it from strings. Fill the sections with bird food and then hang it on a tree.

*1* Make your dishes sparkle- Just add a few tablespoons of white vinegar to your wash water to cut down the amount of grease in it.
*2* Keep you drains clear-Prevent clogs before they start by pouring 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup white vinegar into your drains every month.
*3* Nice white sparkling toilets- Drop in a denture cleaning tablet and a teaspoon of oarnge drink mix to lift away stains from the bowl
*4* Shine your mirrors without leaving lint-Wipe Mirrors and windows with coffee filters or crumpled newspaper dipped in vinegar. They won't leave any residue. (My hubby uses the crumpled newspaper- it works well!)

*1* Have Chlorine Hair?- Rinse hair with club soda after swimming in a pool to prevent chlorine from turning blond hair green.
*2*Make You gems sparkle- Soak genuine gemstone jewelry in club soda overnight. Jewelry will have a sparkling shine in the morning!
*3* Have Rusty Bolts that you can't loosen?-Pour a little club soda over them, and let the bubbles go to work stripping the rust away.
*4*Shine Chrome- Wipe a cloth dampened with club soda over faucets. Your water spots and soap scum dissapear without scrubbing!
*5* Great Pancakes- Substitute club soda for milk or water in your recipe. The tiny bubbles make pancakes extra fluffy.

*1* Seal the Envelope- Theres no need to lick the envelope. Just seal it with a self-adhesive address label!
*2* Sign up for sales- Do you love to shop? Stash some extra address labels in your purse and quickly add yourself to store mailing lists.
*3* Get your books returned to you- If you like to loan out books but have a hard time getting them back then add an address label to the inside cover to help remind the forgetful borrower who the book came from.
*4* Get your Dish back- Do you frequent potlucks? Put an address label on the bottom of your casserole dish. This will help the hostess know which dish belongs to you..

6 Uses for Salt
*1* Remove Water Marks from wood surfaces.
Make a paste of salt and cooking oil. Rub the paste onto the ring with a sponge; let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe with a soft cloth and then polish as usual.
*2* Veggie Wash
You can remove dirt from greens like spinach, kale and arugula by swirling them around in a bowl of salt water.
*3* Fix your sticky Iron
Remove gunk spots, sprinkle a little salt on a piece of brown paper and run the hot iron over it. Repeat if necessary.
*4* Keep your windows frost- free.
Rub the inside of your windows with a sponge dipped in salt water, and frost won't collect.
*5*Banish Bubbles
Get rid of excess suds when handwashing garments in the sink or doing the dishes by sprinkling them with a pinch of salt.
*6* Clean a greasy pan.
Shake a little salt on the pan before washing. It will absorb most of the grease.

2/26/10 Uses for Rubber Gloves
#1 Before using pliers, snip the thumbs from a pair of rubber gloves and put them over the plier ends to create No-Slip tools.
#2 Cut rings from the fingers of rubber gloves. Ta Da-you now have homemade rubber bands!
#3 Put on a pair of rubber gloves to get a good grip to help you open a tight jar lid.
#4 Do you leave your brooms leaning against the wall? They probably slide and fall over. Just cut the fingertip off a rubber glove and place it over the handle. It will keep it from sliding.

2/24/10 Useful things to do with Epsom Salts
1* To feed your plants healthy minerals water them with 2 TBSP Epsom Salts dissolved in 1 gallon of warm water. Do this about once a month.
2* Do you have a new outfit? To set the dyes in it, just add 1/4 cup of Epsom Salts to detergent the first time you wash the outfit.
3* Want a cheap spa treatment? When your in the shower scrub Epsom Salts over rough skin to make it smooth and beautiful.

2/22/10 Useful things to do with EGGS
1* Use them for planting. They are great for seedings. Just put your eggshells in an egg carton, fill them with soil and then press the seeds inside. When your ready to plant your garden just crack the eggshell and plant the whole thing! The plants will also get nutrients from the eggshells.
2* Have you ever found gum stuck on fabric or had your child come to you with a wad of gum stuck in his/her hair? Work in raw egg whites to break down the gum!
3* Whip up one egg white until it's foamy. Apply it to your skin (avoid your eyes). Leave it on for 5 minutes, then rinse. This helps tighten your pores!
